The Tee-Up For Kids X-Golf Challenge was played over April-June 2015 at X-Golf’s indoor golf experience, located in Malvern, delivered through technologically advanced golf simulators that enable you to play any golf course around the world.

The event was well supported as a first up promotion and the winners of the Challenge were:

  • A Grade Winner- Nathan Price.
  • B Grade Winner- Paul Filipovic.
  • C Grade Winner Ash Stephens (due to work commitments the runner up, Maurice Romero played Moonah Links).
  • D Grade Winner- Andrew Vogan.
  • Nearest The Pin (NTP) winner Toby Loakes received a set of fitted TaylorMade clubs.

The four (4) Grade winners won a game of golf at Moonah Links with Matthew Griffin, professional Australian golfer and Tee-Up For Kids Ambassador, including a return helicopter flight from Melbourne.

On Friday 7th August 2015, the boys met at Moorabbin Airport’s Helicopter Terminal and boarded the Professional Helicopter Services helicopter (Eurocopter AS350 BA Squirrel) for the trip down to Moonah Links.

The boys played the Legends course (6,315 metres) which generally follows the valleys through a variety of landscapes ranging from ancient Moonah woodlands to open links land. The fairways were generous and the putting surfaces gentle, but the bunkering style is bold and wild in appearance that on the day contributed to fun game but it proved to be no pushover.

Weather on the day was overcast early, becoming unsettled with periods of light rain and sun shine however it did not dampen or delay play.

In closing, big thank you to everyone who participated in the Challenge and special recognition to TaylorMade, Professional Helicopter Services and Moonah Links for their support.
