2011 Corporate Challenge

The 2011 Corporate Challenge for the Tee Up For Kids Foundation was held on 1st April 2011 at the Sandhurst Club, south of Melbourne. The Corporate Challenge pitted a diverse group of golfers out on one of Melbourne’s finest championship courses, whilst raising that will facilitate community integration, well being, education and career programs to provide opportunity for these children to get back into the community. The wider vision of the Foundation is to engage with the corporate world not only to seek funding towards our programs but also to tap into charity minded people who bring different skills to assist the Foundation with its strategic direction, fund-raising initiatives and the resultant programs.

The day started with a hearty breakfast, followed by a brief opportunity to tune up on the practice range, then it was time for the player briefing and then onto the course, in readiness for the shot gun start.

Despite early fog the day cleared to a perfect windless 21 degrees. The course itself was in magnificent condition and played extremely well, provided you stayed out of the rough, the rough was unforgiving taking many balls and proving a challenge for many players seeking golfing glory.

Congratulations to tournament winners Fraser Jefferies Finance team and the runners up RACV Club Cobram team. Your scores were outstanding!

Other highlights of the day were the on course golfing tips from senior golfing professionals Ian Stanley and Peter Nardella, the photographers buggy crashing into the bunker, and the larger number of items in the both the public and silent auctions, contributing to a most enjoyable and successful day, raising around $25,000, great first up outcome for the Foundation.
